Cancellation of Parish Council Meeting Wednesday 18th March 2020
/in Homepage, NewsCancellation of Parish Council Meetings
Following advice from Worcestershire CALC, Abberley Parish Council meeting scheduled for Wednesday 18th March has been cancelled due to restrictions imposed by the Coronavirus.
The Government advises that everyone implement what is termed social distancing with those who are over 70 and those who would normally get the flu jab to be particularly stringent in observing this advice. Social distancing includes avoiding large gatherings, and gatherings in smaller public spaces such as pubs, cinemas, restaurants, theatres, bars, clubs, Village Halls and Council meeting rooms.
Until we are informed by the Government that it is safe to do so, the Parish Council will be managing their business without formal meetings. This is in line with guidance provided by Worcestershire CALC.
Parishioners should check the Parish Council website and contact the Parish Clerk with any matter over which they have a concern or make written representation.
We apologise for this inconvenience at this time.
Regards
Carole Hirst
Clerk and Responsible Finance Officer.

Get involved with the Police Budget with Question and Answer session Facebook on Monday 20th January at 7pm (@WestMerciaPCC)
/in News
As the Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion, begins to set the budget for the next financial year, he wants to hear questions from the public, to put the Chief Constable.
How would you like to see your money spent? How would you like to see resources prioritised? What would you do differently?
Budget and resources will be the focus of the next live question and answer session taking place on Monday 20th January 2020 from 7pm, streamed live on the PCC’s facebook page (@WestMerciaPCC). There will be opportunity to submit questions in advance, or live during the broadcast. The Commissioner and his Deputy Tracey Onslow will put the questions to West Mercia Police Chief Constable Anthony Bangham, and new Deputy Chief Constable Julian Moss.
Commissioner John Campion said “It’s important that tax payers have a say in how their money is spent, and that resources are used wisely on the issues that matter the most. In previous years the public have helped to shape decisions leading to an uplift in officer numbers making the police more visible and accessible. This is an opportunity to have your say at the highest level, in the most open and transparent way.”
