Notification of Consultation from Malvern Hills District Council – Local List Supplementary Planning Document- Consultation regarding the Draft Supplementary Planning Document for Local Listed Buildings.
/in Homepage, News /by Carole HirstMalvern Hills District Council’s Planning Department have sent out a consultation regarding the Draft Supplementary Planning Document for Local Listed Buildings.
The draft document will set out what local listing is, the nomination and adoption processes for the authority.
Local listing provides an avenue for communities to formally identify architecture, landmarks and street furniture considered to be significant to that community and why. The nomination process includes age, rarity, aesthetics, group value, archaeological, historic, social and communal, landscape and landmark. These considerations are to be weighed against criteria to confirm suitability prior to formal public consultation and adoption as a local listed asset.
Please be aware, as part of a planning application, the inclusion on the list will be a material consideration when determining the application with assessment focusing upon scale of harm or loss and significance of the asset.
Additionally, we would like to seek your views on the proposed document and wish to invite you to engage with our consultation. The draft Local Listed Building Supplementary Planning Document can be viewed via both and Malvern Hills District Council’s website via the following links:
- www.malvernhills.gov.uk/about-your-council/public-notices-and-consultations

Reminder that the Nora Parsons Day Centre AGM is at Nora Parsons Day Centre on the 7th July 2021 at 7 pm
They ARE OPEN albeit quietly to enable them to comply with all the terms of the Covid Safe regulations and for only one day a week, but as soon as numbers increase, which they are doing week by week, they will be looking to open for a second day. Their long term members are delighted to be back and are looking forward to a bright future for the Centre. They have updated inside the building and are now looking to improving the exterior paths and flower beds that had to be put on hold in Autumn 2019.
They are privileged to welcome Harriett Baldwin MP as our Patron. She is local to Wichenford and has been a supporter of Nora Parsons Centre for many years. They are always looking for new committee members and volunteers with an interest in “relieving elderly persons and mentally and physically persons living in the (21) Parishes listed in our Constitution with the object of improving the conditions of life for such persons and for the provision of meals for such persons who are in need whether financially or otherwise”. Their specific needs are those with an interest in dealing with the administration. They welcome visitors on their days of opening who wish to see how they function.
They are pleased to welcome AgeUK who are renting every Friday from them to operate a Dementia Meeting Place. They’re advertising is already circulating and they are holding an Open Day on Friday the 25th June.
